Run #1.9 Beware the Snowpocalypse

After my two week hiatus I wasn't sure what to expect from my 11 miles.  Add to that uncertainty the threat of snow.  Snow & Seattle are like oil & water and other things that don't go together.  According to the weather it was supposed to snow during the very early hours of the morning but it would warm up.  So I figured I could sleep in and get a later start.

I woke up and it was barely snowing and not really sticking so I made my way to the park and bundled up.  I forgot my Garmin, but in the end I figured it was a good thing since I wasn't worried about time on this run.  I was more concerned with not slipping on the snow.  I started off on the trail and the snow started coming down a little bit harder.  But it wasn't sticking (yet).  If course as soon as I said that the snow started coming down.  And sticking.  Ugh!  I kept going.  I can be a bit stubborn at times and I was determined to get my 11 miles in.  The snow kept coming down and down and down.  It switched from fat fluffy snowflakes to hard hail-like pebbles and back again.  The path in front of me looked like a Winter Wonderland.  It started coming down extremely hard and I finally turned around and headed back to my car, figuring I could pick up 2 miles somewhere.  Or not since it finally dawned on me that if it was accumulating on the trail, it would be accumulating on the road and I didn't want to get stuck since I am a wimp when it comes to the snow.

I got back to my car and since it wasn't too bad I decided to keep going to get the last 2 miles.  And of course it started getting bad again - the snow was sticking to my eyelashes but I was so close.  Finally I was done with 11 miles (or thereabouts - it was definitely over 10 so I'm rounding up!).

Seen during my run: a snowball fight, a kid on a sled, and several snowmen being built.

The more important question is - is tomorrow going to be a snow day? :)

Let me just say, I'm so in awe of you. I just went for a bike ride and had previously read your post. It was a little cool, about 55, and the wind of course blowing against me instead of with me. I was thinking this is a little colder than I thought it would be, but I can't imagine the wind and cold you are enduring on your runs. My hat is off to you!! I think I would probably not have stepped out the front door. Good luck with your future runs!! Keep it up!

Those are sadly horizontal, dear,
and living in Seattle reeeally aint
gonna getcha where you need to be:
Seventh-Heaven.
This is our ministry:

This is our ministry:

Q: Most everyone in our country believes in a Seventh-Heaven, right? Right. Where we can be free4eternity to anything we wanna besides Mass on Sondays? ...Yet, do you believe in Hell???
A: If you dont, Jesus does: YOU send yourself to a realm beneath this earth for mortal sin WITHOUT repentance after this finite existence (Catholicism, the Truest Church, believes in Purgatory which we ALL git out to N'joy Upstairs forever).

Nevertheless, 1-outta-1 bites-the-dust, bro... yet, that certainly aint TheEnd: we're all Divinely Judged according to OUR deeds on this earth; TheEnd comes when we see eternal Seventh-Heaven -OR- the Abyss o'Misery which is also eternal. never ending. infinite.

Q: Wonder why people CHOOSE Hell where we'll be tortured both physically N psychologically muuuch longer than 999... nonillion years when this lifetime is simply passing-away?
A: Worshipping allah the superficial indifference of this whorizontal world outta ignorance or stupidity: only 2 realms after ourlifelong demise, folks ...and 1 of em aint too cool.

trustNjesus.
ALWAYS.
God bless your indelible soul.
Yes, earthling, Im an NDE.

Let this be your catalyst to Seventh-Heaven:

'The more you shall honor Me,
the more I shall bless you'
-the Infant Jesus of Prague
(<- Czech Republic, next to Russia)

Love him or leave him...
better lissen to the Don:
if you deny o'er-the-Hillary's evil,
which most whorizontalites do,
you cannot deny Hellfire
which YOU send YOURSELF to.
Yes, earthling, I was an NDE:
the sights were beyond extreme.
Choose Jesus.
You'll be most happy you did.
God bless your indelible soul.
